Finding Someone to do the Little, but Important Things Correctly and with Professionalism

This home had a serious but small problem.

The serious part of the problem was a leak penetrating through to the foyer, causing damage to the drywall. The small part was, from the professional contractors perspective, the job is too small to make money.

I have found that this is not true, you can make money on the small jobs.

The homeowner had a couple of handymen try to stop the leak, but because they were not professional at what a tuckpointer /caulker does, which is to locate and fix leaks, they were unable to give a satisfactory result.

So, these people were paid for nothing in essence, not to be impertinent, but this is the case. And they most likely charged a very reasonble price for the service.

Without total customer satisfaction, the customer feels as though they paid for nothing, which is true.

When you provide the customer total satisfaction you are able to charge the price commensurate with the results and everyone is happy

The details of this particular repair was that because of the valley in the roof a preponderance of water was gushing over the gutters, and the gutters had a leaf guard system installed, which does prevent leaves from going into the gutter, but also closes the gap in which the rainwater can cascade freely into the gutter.

This narrow gap in the gutter system will cause the water to cascade over the gutter, not in to it, during a torrential downpour some of the water will splash on to the vinyl siding and aluminum flashing, which starts the loosening of the wall system.

Refastening the siding and caulking with high quality Dow-Corning Silicone, then tuckpointing some minor wash-outs, solved this problem.
