We seal unprotected openings stopping the spread of fire, using any Fire Stopping caulk thats specified.

 

 JND Enterprises, Fire Stop caulks various joint sizes and design layout, including single-sided joint system installation, these usally require double application of fire stopping sealent and two applications of mineral wool. We apply the fire stopping caulk using spray equipment or caulking guns to head of wall, wall to wall, bottom of wall and slab edge / curtain wall fire and conduit pipe through wall or floor. Other firestopping products include mineral wool, fire strips, and compression seals. Application can be a single component, water-based or silicone based sealant. Material usually remains flexible after it dries.
