Caulking a straight line or joint is unchallenging for the professional tuckpointer/caulker, but a corner that recesses inward, is.

A corner is the weakest part of a joint detail, because of the difficulty in tooling the caulk for a proper seal. Tooling is the use of a spatula style tool, in our case we use tuckpointing trowels of various sizes; depending upon the width of the joint. Using the tuckpointing trowel, gently pull the caulk in one direction then stretch the caulk in the other direction, this tooling action must be done a minimum of three times to ensure the caulk is sealed and secured to the joint.

Now we have a neat and tidy caulked joint, that will last for years to come.
